Walking and cycling
The Kraaijenbergse Plassen offer a fantastic opportunity to enjoy beautiful walks in the midst of lush nature. The recreation area includes more than 15 km of walking and cycling paths, offering countless options for planning a beautiful route in and around the Kraaijenbergse Plassen area. You can use the existing junction network in the Kraaijenbergse Plassen to plan your walking or cycling tour. On the right-hand map, the distances between the junctions are indicated in kilometers, so that you can easily determine your own route. Along the routes there are several benches and picnic tables where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Please note: If you want to walk or cycle in the evening, keep in mind that the paths around the Kraaijenbergse Plassen are not illuminated.
Aquatics
With an area of 475 hectares of water, the Kraaijenbergse Plassen offer excellent opportunities for water sports enthusiasts. Water sports activities are permitted on lakes 1 to 4, 7, 8 and part of 9. Campsite no. 17 is located on lake number 8, so you can recreate in the water directly from the campsite. The other lakes are within walking and cycling distance. If you choose to go to another lake by car, you can park at lakes 3 and 9. Consult the map for more information.
Various activities are possible on the Kraaijenbergse Plassen. Whether you want to explore the water with a boat, row in a boat or canoe, glide on a surfboard in the wind or simply swim, it is all possible on these lakes. However, please note that you always act at your own risk, as Camping No. 17 is not responsible for your activities on the water. There are several mooring places available for people with their own boat.
When visiting the Kraaijenbergse Plassen, it is important to be aware of the applicable rules. For example, it is not permitted to enter the water of the Kraaijenbergse Plassen with water skis, jet skis, wakeboards and water scooters. So be aware of these rules to spend a safe and enjoyable time on the water.
Beach recreation
The Kraaijenbergse Plassen offer excellent recreational opportunities for visitors. Special recreational beaches have been created at Lakes 2, 3, 4 and 9, with Lakes 2, 3 and 9 having sandy beaches. If you are a sporty recreationist, Plas 3 is particularly interesting for you.
In all lakes, with the exception of Lake 5, swimming, SUPing, sailing, boating, windsurfing and snorkeling are permitted. The water quality is checked every two weeks between May 1 and September 30 and is always excellent.
The Kraaijenbergse Plassen are easily accessible by car, bicycle and on foot. Campsite no. 17 is located directly on the lakes and offers various parking options. Please note: there is a parking ban along the roads surrounding the Kraaijenbergse Plassen.
